Engagement Invites
With my recent engagement, comes being creative with invites and save-the-dates! We are having the typical engagement BBQ so our invites turned out like this. Some green napkins, plastic silverware, and a belly band with details inside...Not real sure if sending 40 plastic knives and forks was the smartest, but we'll find out!
Power in Numbers
Power in Numbers is a piece I developed after a networking event we attended. It always amazes me the power and importance a business card has, so this piece was made to represent the hustle-'n-bustle of business professionals. Lots of business cards, lined up in rows, pushing their product, yada yada...but looking at it from our creative agency side, and US pushing our service, I began to visualize something. All of these cards in this piece are ours (employees of Matchbook Creative), they all are ideas that we "sell" or "market" to potential clients. The impact and importance of one card is only as powerful as its design, in theory. It is like an advertising campaign. So I looked at it in a way similar to the critique stages of a design project. A designer does something and essentially sells that design to his colleagues, they critique it, changes are made, and so on... At the end, a pretty nice piece is developed with everyones collective input. This piece represents that idea.
Nearer the top, all the cards are simply lined up and uniform, but then there is one flipped over, an "idea"...then another "idea" finally after two or three people buy into it, they decide to try and put one of the green sides upside down...a few more rows go by and they feel they like it so, they do it again... Basically the power of numbers and ideas has spawned this creative thought to turn one of them upside down. By the bottom of the piece, there is a total of 3 upside down. I guess you could say it is a process piece showing the process of power in numbers.
Not to mention, the entire time I was doing this piece I ironically had Jurassic 5's Power in Numbers album playing in the background.
